Brownies: Baker's One Bowl Brownies
This is the recipe on the back of the Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate box. So many people have asked for the recipe, I thought I should (finally) post it. I bake my brownies in foil lined 9x13 Pyrex dishes at 325 for 35 minutes. (I put 2 or 3 pans in the oven, so if you're only making one batch, you MAY want to decrease baking time a minute or two -- I really don't know.) I do know that it's really important not to overbake.
4 squares Bakers Unsweetened Baking Chocolate
3/4 c (1.5 sticks) butter
2 c sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 c flour
1 c coarsely chopped pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 (I use 325). Line 9 x 13 baking pan with foil with ends extending over sides of pan. Grease foil.
Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on high for 2 min, or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in sugar. (Mixture will appear grainy.) Blend in eggs and vanilla. (Mixture will become smooth and have a satiny sheen.) Add flour and pecans. Mix well. Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 30 to 35 min or until tooth pick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Do not overbake. Cool in pan or wire rack. Remove brownies from pan using foil handles. Cut into squares. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.
